As a fourth grade teacher in a rural, low SES area, I have a large (and growing) number of students that have been diagnosed with ADHD, but are not receiving any therapies nor taking medication to help with the symptoms of ADHD. I'm not here to discuss what should or should not be done from a parent's perspective. I am simply here to say we have students with untreated ADHD...so what can do we do about that? A study was done of the most and least used strategies and the most and least effective strategies for students with ADHD. Hopefully you can find one or two strategies that can help you to better serve students in your class with ADHD. Strategies from Walker (2013) 1.
